Pete Tachauer
I came to photography quite late in life.....in 2011 to be precise, aged 56. I have always been a people watcher and I think this stems from 30 years spent as a cop in London. This fascination with people going about their daily lives, the grind of the commute, the partying, incongruous juxtaposition, fashion, interaction all translated from brain to digital bits and bobs on a USB card of a digital camera. My particular interest in photography is known as "Street Photography." Think of it as combing the streets seeking those candid moments. A second too soon or a second too late is no good, reaction and anticipation is the key. Preparation meeting opportunity equals luck. I have had an exhibition at the Beecroft Gallery in Southend, Essex and have had an article written about me in Street Photography Magazine in the USA. I have also been published in Essex Life and a national newspaper. I have presented my work at a number of camera clubs in Essex in the past year.
